Understand What the Product Can Do
Random nicknames reduce exposed identity info, but cannot guarantee that your words cannot be recognized, nor that every participant is trustworthy.
Keep What Is Yours
Avoid revealing details that connect chats to real-world identities. Before sharing, consider if the info could identify you or others.
- Never send login passwords, verification codes, recovery credentials, ID numbers, or private keys.
- Be cautious with home address, school, company, specific schedules, and details identifying others.
- Never transfer funds or provide payment details due to chat requests.
- Share room numbers and passwords only with trusted people; private rooms can still be screenshotted.
When Uncomfortable, Just Stop
You can stop responding, block members, or leave the room. Use in-app reporting for harassment or privacy leaks; hosts can mute or remove members.
These tools help manage misconduct, but cannot eliminate all risks. Never stay in an uncomfortable interaction just to collect more evidence.
Give Each Other Space
Respect refusal and silence. Do not harass, advertise, leak private info, or use a stranger’s expression as broadcast material.
ODO is a communication tool, not a professional counseling or emergency aid service. When in need of real-world help, seek trusted local resources.
